What the UK ETA is
The UK ETA is an Electronic Travel Authorisation. It is not a visa and it is not a stamp in your passport. It is a permission to travel, linked electronically to the passport you apply with, that visitors from around eighty-five countries now need before boarding a flight, train or ferry to the United Kingdom.
